Mark Lambert (PhD, HEC-C), is Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Medicine, Medical Humanities, and Bioethics at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences. He directs the medical ethics curriculum for students in the DO program. As such he is also attuned to the ever-shifting legal and public policy landscape in Iowa, especially as these decisions impact access to medical care and social determinants of health. His research background has focused on the relationship between religion, medicine, and stigmatizing illnesses, with particular emphasis on leprosy (Hansen's disease) and HIV/AIDS.
